Basic Christian Beliefs
The Bible is inspired and inerrant word of God such that it contains all that is necessary and is the final authority for faith and practice.
There is one God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. God created and sustains the world.
Man was created by God to be in a relationship with God. Man sinned against God and deserves eternal separation from God as result of sin.
Jesus is God the Son and God incarnate. He was born to the virgin Mary and lived a perfect life. He died on a cross, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day after he died, appeared to many after his death and ascended into heaven. Jesus died in place of sinful man to fulfill the requirement for sin and rose from the dead, conquering death to offer hope to all that believe.
Salvation only comes by grace through faith in Jesus. Those who believe in Jesus have eternal life that cannot be taken away.
Jesus will come back in the way he went away and will judge everyone according to his or her faith.
The church is the body of Christ whose members are all those who have faith in Jesus. The church is manifested through local bodies of believers.
Every believer is called to love God first and foremost and love people. Every believer is gifted spiritually to serve the church and carry out the mission to make disciples of all nations.
